Expressions of interest are now open for Townsville residents to become a part of Townsville City Council’s Water Smart Package. The $10 million package, funded by the Queensland Government, is designed to reduce water usage across the city.
Vouchers of up to $300 will be available to homeowners, renters and body corporates from the first quarter of 2019 to pay for initiatives including water-efficient irrigation systems, low-flow shower heads, and drought-resistant turf.
Additional support will be made available for pensioners and low-income families, who can access vouchers of up to $500.
To apply for support, residents simply need to fill out their basic details to Townsville City Council here.
