Loose debris or overgrown trees and plants could cause damage during a weather event, while gutters and drainpipes clogged with leaves can prevent drainage from heavy rain. Yard maintenance and a thorough clean-up are jobs that don’t need to wait until a cyclone is on its way!
Planning
If Townsville is at risk of being hit by a cyclone, your property might need some extra measures like sandbags or window taping. Have a list of what you’ll need in the event of a cyclone ready to go. You should also make sure that your insurances are all in order and that you know what you’re covered for and what you’ll need to have ready for a claim.
